Welcome to my sofa, as today Iâll binge with you some videos I love,
Last weekend I was blessed to go camping and disconnect a bit from the screens. I must say I was a bit scared. See⌠My only two camping experiences in my childhood were quite traumatizing, happening under pouring rain. This led to a lifetime of being sure I hated camping. Well, this weekend I changed my mind. I missed having all that nature around me, hearing different birds singing and children play, the simplicity of dinner outside, the different way time passed by, and that feeling of community (kids and most adults would say hi anytime you walked by, which is not how things are where I grew up and live today). It feels nice learning you like something new, so I thought I would share it here.
Due to that necessary disconnection (and loads of work that needs to be done), todayâs Nexialist will be more on the entertainment side, which means music, music videos, and some beautiful choreographies. I was saving some things that are not necessarily new, but maybe they are for someone. So enjoy! And if you want to go back to a Nexialist episode you havenât read, you can always check here the top ones.
đ Stream Trava LĂnguas
First, I need to ask you to stream Trava LĂnguas, save it to listen later or now. Linn da Quebrada is one of the most talented, necessary, and relevant artists from Brazil and does wonders with Brazilian Portuguese. Trava LĂnguas means Tongue Twisters. Trava, is also short for Travesti, or Transvestite in Portuguese.
đˇADORO
I know I have brought MÂĽSS KETA before, but I need to bring another one of my favorite songs from her (ft. Il Pagante): ADORO. I will confess that when I went to Milan a couple of years ago, I fantasized about meeting her at a party.
đTwerking on the Table
This is another one of those beautiful videos Iâm proud to say is Brazilian. I love the visuals, the storyline, the songs and the twerking on the table.
đDonât Be Afraid
Iâm such a fan of Jungle. Their music is amazing, but what I enjoy the most are the one-shot videos they usually do and how most of the dancers have been present for years already. I feel like itâs a beautiful and different way to tell a story, I feel like they are characters in a show and I canât wait for the next episode.
đ¤Glass & Patron
This is my favorite video from FKA Twigs. I had the privilege of seeing her live in CarrĂŠ, a beautiful theatre in Amsterdam. I was mesmerized by her artistic excellence and finished the concert sobbing.
đRoman
The dancing in this video and this song are out of this world. Mashrouâ Leila is a Lebanese band that I was in love at first sight. Also, I love that the lead vocalist, Hamed Sinno, is openly gay.
âSad, Mad or Bad
This is a song that always gets me emotional even if I heard it a thousand times since it came out. Itâs a song about the judgment society has on women who donât follow the ânorm.â
That a man does not define you
Your house does not define you
Your flesh does not define you
You are your own home
đMorning Music
I was missing some good music from Aluna. Though I have a hard time waking up and leaving bed, I love the idea of waking up and dancing.
đĽHot N Heavy
This dancing routine here is just so beautiful, from beginning to end. I kept
đBoomers vs. GenZ
A dance-off between Boomers and Gen-Z, the biggest generational feud there is.
Thatâs it. Iâll leave with a gif that always makes me giggle.
